"Memories In A Garden" (Part 22b of 24) - Submission for "Life In A Day" project This is my submission (user: CJinMono) for consideration for inclusion in the "Life In A Day" movie: www.youtube.com After hearing of this project, I fairly quickly had an idea of what I wanted to do. I came up with the idea to shoot footage in the garden that my mother had cared for and worked on until her passing a little over two months ago (as of 24 July 2010). The footage of life in bloom is a tribute to my mother, and I am hopeful at least a part of it will be included in "Life In A Day." General info about the clips: The footage was taken, in 720p at 30fps, by a Canon PowerShot SD960 IS. It was attached to a small tripod which I held in my hand while shooting. After watching the video with Joe Walker about editing, I decided to not edit or combine the clips, and instead upload them as they are. They are labeled in the order I would have included them had I edited them together. To go along with the "no editing" mantra, I did not take out the audio from the clips (monaural, from built-in microphone), so there are a variety of ambient sounds included. Also, I did not edit the individual clips' video. Therefore, on many of them, the first 4-5 seconds and the last 2-3 seconds may be a little shaky. Battle scenes only witnessed in sci-fi movies could soon become reality after the US military tested a new laser weapon. The powerful laser has been successfully used to shoot down four unmanned aircraft in flight. The tests were carried out in May by the US Navy and Raytheon, a weapon manufacturer. In a black-and-white video, reminiscent of early science fiction films, an aircraft flying across the sky is seen suddenly bursting into fire. In the next instant it is plunging into the sea. According to Raytheon the video shows the power of a so-called solid-state laser. The power of Laser Close-In Weapons System (CIWS) is based on a 50 kilowatt beam it produces. The beam is invisible. On the video it can be seen only when it hits its target. The technology uses a tracking system from Raytheon to focus six solid-state lasers simultaneously on the target. The results were revealed on Monday at Farnborough International Air Show. A similar laser has been successfully tested on destroying static mortars and incoming mortar shells over land. The earlier method produced a beam from a chemical reaction. It was too cumbersome to use. I bought an capture card so I can play Xbox while in the boonies on a laptop... First I tried the Component/Composite cable... which looked completely horrid and jagged! I tried looking at VGA capture cards... way over priced... Then I found an RF adapter at radio shack changing the signal to ANALOG RF whichs like this... Maybe if i get enough posts i can post what it looks like on RCA... Oh yea while recording there is a delay... so sorry if i cant shoot straight... Enjoy

"Memories In A Garden" (Part 15 of 24) - Submission for "Life In A Day" project This is my submission (user: CJinMono) for consideration for inclusion in the "Life In A Day" movie: www.youtube.com After hearing of this project, I fairly quickly had an idea of what I wanted to do. I came up with the idea to shoot footage in the garden that my mother had cared for and worked on until her passing a little over two months ago (as of 24 July 2010). The footage of life in bloom is a tribute to my mother, and I am hopeful at least a part of it will be included in "Life In A Day." General info about the clips: The footage was taken, in 720p at 30fps, by a Canon PowerShot SD960 IS. It was attached to a small tripod which I held in my hand while shooting. After watching the video with Joe Walker about editing, I decided to not edit or combine the clips, and instead upload them as they are. They are labeled in the order I would have included them had I edited them together. To go along with the "no editing" mantra, I did not take out the audio from the clips (monaural, from built-in microphone), so there are a variety of ambient sounds included. Also, I did not edit the individual clips' video. Therefore, on many of them, the first 4-5 seconds and the last 2-3 seconds may be a little shaky. Please disregard that when viewing the unedited clips. Specific info (part 15): Will edit later.
