This is a stop motion animation I have recently made. I took about 2000 photos and spent about 24 hours editing it. There is some computer animation used as well. The animation is about a young boy who catches a ride with a strange old man in his 1950's car. "Limbo Rock" and "Ain't She Sweet" ... The beautiful carousel at Seabreeze Amusement Park, Rochester, New York, with its replica Wurlitzer 165 band organ. The park's previous carousel, Philadelphia Toboggan Co. #36, was lost to fire in 1994, and as you can see from the picture at the beginning, the new carousel, completed in 1996, looks very much like it. The horses were carved by master carver Ed Roth in California. There are also four survivors from PTC #36, as well as two horses carved by George Long, Jr. The band organ, also completed in 1996, was built by Johnny Verbeeck in Belgium, based on a Wurlitzer 165 in a private collection. The roll frames are original Wurlitzer, from a European organ that had been converted to 165 rolls. These two tunes are from roll 6838, one of the new rolls by virtuoso arranger Rich Olsen -- "Limbo Rock" (Strange & Sheldon) followed by, at 2:23, "Ain't She Sweet" (Milton Ager). UPDATE -- 2/28/10 -- A replica 165 facade for this organ is in the works!

Footage includes the UK's first vogueing house 'The House Of Child', whom the competitions eventual winner George Long was a member. Make up by Jalle Baker & Ray Allington, with models Lisa B, Roy Antony Brown,Marc Massive & Sel Child. This rare video was released in 1990 by Popata productions.
